The floodwaters of Katrina rose over two feet inside this home, effectively destroying everything in the interior.  More than eighteen months of restoration followed, in which all interior surfaces were stripped and refinished, furniture restored and reupholstered, new carpets and draperies installed, and artworks and craft collections sent away for conservation.  The story of the architectural restoration is illustrated in the Architecture section of this website.
